Dr Maria Jose LISTA BROTOS King’s College London, Department of Infectious Diseases, Guy’s Hospital, London, UK Invited by Dorian McIlroy Title : “Mechanism of viral mRNA restriction mediated by the ZAP complex”.

Maria Jose Lista started her scientific journey in Montevideo, Uruguay where she gained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry followed by a Master's in Molecular and Cellular Biology. During her Master's, she completed two internships in France, which led to a PhD fellowship, working on the the mechanism of Epstein-Barr virus immune evasion in Prof. Marc Blondel's lab in Brest. She then moved to Paris for postdoctoral work on HIV-1 reversion of latency and the study of cellular proteins involved in this process. Finally, since 2019 she has been working in Prof. Stuart Neil's lab at King's College London on factors involved in HIV restriction and in SARS-CoV2 inhibition of entry.
