Dr Sigrid LE CLERC Laboratoire GBCM (Génétique, Bioinformatique et Chimie Moléculaire), Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers Invited by Sophie Limou

With a PhD in bioinformatic and trained in genetics, I have applied genomic approaches for more than fifteen years to study complex traits. My contributions include the identification of host genetic factors in HIV progression, the role of HLA variation in psychiatric disorders, and the discovery of genetic factors involved in skin aging. Current projects focus on rare variant analyses, gene–environment interactions, and the integration of omics data to investigate the biology of complex traits. Additional work addresses genetic factors in cancer and infectious diseases. Across these areas, my research highlights the central role of bioinformatics as a bridge between biology and computation in disentangling disease complexity, with ongoing developments toward women’s health and multi-ancestry studies.
