Dr Meriem BELABED Associate Scientist, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York Invited by Jérôme Martin Title : “Molecular and metabolic regulators shaping dendritic cell maturation in tumors “

Meriem Belabed is currently an associate scientist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.

She earned her first Master’s degree in cellular and molecular biology from Blida University in Algeria, and later completed a second Master’s in Immunology and Immunopathology at Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris.

She then pursued a Ph.D. in Immunology at the Imagine Institute, under the mentorship of Dr. Gael Ménasché, where she investigated the role of kinesin-1 in antigen cross-presentation by dendritic cells.

Her longstanding interest in dendritic cell biology and their involvement in cancer immunology led her to join the laboratory of Dr. Miriam Merad. Since then, her research has focused on the mechanisms regulating dendritic cell maturation in the tumor microenvironment, with the goal of identifying new strategies to enhance cancer immunotherapy.

Her recent work investigates how dendritic cells integrate tumor-derived signals and how metabolism influences their immunogenic function. In parallel, she actively supports initiatives that promote immunology education. She aspires to pursue an academic career focused on dendritic cell biology and translational immunotherapy research M BELAED
