Pr Peter CONLON, Beaumont hospital, Dublin “Genetics in Kidney Transplantation”. Invité par le Dr Sophie Limou

Professor Peter Conlon is graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He trained in Nephrology in Dublin and at Duke University in North Carolina, where he was on Staff for a number of years before returning to Dublin in 1998. He has had a long-standing interest in inherited kidney disease and has identified a number of novel genes associated with kidney disease in conjunction with a number of collaborate across Europe and the USA. For the last ten years Professor Conlon has been involved in the UK RTC (United Kingdom and Ireland Renal Transplant Consortium) and Igene train to study inherited factors associated with long-term kidney transplant outcome. In more recent years, he has applied polygenic risk scores to identify factors associated with cause of renal failure in long-term donor and recipient kidney outcomes. He will present the results of some of these investigations during his talk.
